The Garden
Xanthi
Xanthi is a walking lichen garden, caring deeply about the environment. He is greatly attuned to the inner workings of ecosystems. He speaks no spoken language but can communicate deeply in ways unknown.
Appearance
Xanthi is so-named for the characteristic orange Xanthoria lichens that colonize his cold, rough skin. His large ram horns curve widely, made of a sturdy, organic, bark-like material. His hooves are triply segmented and cloven - the middle segment is hollow underneath like a scoop that he uses to dig up mushrooms & till the earth
Where to find him
Xanthi is as living and solid as the rabbits and deer he shares the forest with, yet he inhabits any and every forest he comes across. As he migrates through different forests, his body is able to adapt - this is marked by new species colonizing and outcompeting the Xanthoria lichen on his horns, new plants able to call his body home. He most commonly stays in areas permitting the growth of the orange sunburst species, but often travels to other ecosystems from time to time, especially if they are in dire need of protection.
